The word arreu is a term in the Sardinian language that means “a stroll,” a word that perfectly captures my curiosity and desire for discovery
My name is Simone, and I am an Environmental Hiking Guide. I grew up in a small town in the central-southern part of Sardinia, surrounded by wheat fields and the animals of my family’s farm.
After graduating in Territorial Development from the University of Cagliari, I spent several periods abroad to work and travel; it is perhaps the distance from home that made me fall even more in love with my land.
Thus, I decided to do something for it, trying to connect the dots of my life and academic journey.
What better way to foster development in one’s own territory than by introducing it to visitors through the words and stories of someone who lives and studies it? This is how the project Arreu in s’Isula was born.
Currently, I work throughout almost the entire regional territory, but I specialize in the historical region where I grew up, Marmilla—a territory often underrated but with enormous cultural and environmental potential.
